Sinds 2017 rijden alle elektrische reizigerstreinen sinds op groene stroom. Ook is er in het Bestuursakkoord Zero Emissie Busvervoer&nbsp;afgesproken om vanaf 2025 alle nieuwe bussen te laten rijden op 100% hernieuwbare energie of brandstof. Vanaf 2030 moeten alle bussen volledig emissievrij zijn.&nbsp;De overheid maakt met een groot aantal sectoren ook meerjarenafspraken voor de&nbsp;<strong>verbetering van de energie-effici\u00ebntie<\/strong>. Met de spoorsector is afgesproken om per jaar 2% energie te besparen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Well-to-Wheel efficiency<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Door de energie effici\u00ebntie te verbeteren kan er meer worden gedaan met dezelfde hoeveelheid energie en dus&nbsp;<strong>versnelt het de energietransitie<\/strong>. Andersom wordt bij een lage energie effici\u00ebntie de energietransitie juist afgeremd. De bijgevoegde infographic geeft de zogenaamde well-to-wheel systeemeffici\u00ebntie (hoger = beter) weer die diesel-, waterstof- en elektrische bus met elkaar vergelijkt. Van energie opwek (groen vs. grijs) tot en met verbruik door de bus en de hele keten ertussen. Ook de benodigde output (in GWh) aan energie die de bussen verbruiken ten opzichte van de benodigde input (in GWh) aan energie die ervoor nodig is aan het begin van de keten, wordt belicht middels de input-to-output ratio (lager = beter).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Onge\u00ebvenaarde energie-effici\u00ebntie: Hedgehog Systeem&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De bovenleiding in Nederland wordt voorzien van duurzaam opgewekte groene energie. Door het Hedgehog Systeem aan de keten toe te voegen wordt de&nbsp;<strong>remenergie van treinen gerecycled<\/strong>&nbsp;en dus weer opnieuw gebruikt. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de well-to-wheel effici\u00ebntie stijgt naar 60% en de input-to-output ratio daalt naar 1,7x. In vergelijking tot de andere energiesystemen een ongekend hoge well-to-wheel-effici\u00ebntie.
